BBC Radio 2 host Scott Mills has claimed he’s on shaky ground with Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher.
The DJ, 51, said he fell out with Gallagher, 52, in the late ‘90s and they had a expletive-filled exchange while backstage at Top Of The Pops.
“I'd met them before and chatted to them briefly, so I thought that might be a bit of an in,” he recalled in his memoir, Love You Bye.
“They were absolutely huge at the time and renowned for being outspoken. Their radio plugger took me over to Liam and said, ‘You remember Scott, don't you? You've met him before.’ Liam looked me up and down and went, ‘Yeah, he's a c**t.’”
Mills admitted he was “floored” by the alleged insult as it was around his second week working at the now-defunct BBC music show.
Reflecting on the fallout today, Mills claimed it was cool to be “mean”, but he believes the Wonderwall rocker is “probably nicer” now.

“I think he’s completely changed. I actually think I am completely changed, but I think he’s probably a nicer man now,” he told The Sun.
Mills added: “In the Nineties, it was the thing to be mean. All pop stars now are pretty nice. When I joined Radio 1 in ’98, a lot were horrible as that was the thing to do. It doesn’t happen any more.”
Gallagher’s representative declined to comment when approached by The Standard.
The Mancunian musician is set to reunite with his brother Noel 57, for the first time in 15 years during their Live ‘25 world tour, which kicks off in Cardiff in July.
The siblings famously feuded for years, with Oasis splitting in 2009 following a backstage row at the Rock en Seine festival in France.

In August, they sent fans into a frenzy by announcing their reunion tour after years of their loyal followers pleading with them to get back together.
The Britpop legends will play multiple stadiums around the UK, before going global with shows in Japan, Argentina, the United States and Brazil.
Earlier this week, Liam shared his regret over the “wasted years” he and Noel spent feuding.
An Oasis fan had asked him on X: “How does it feel singing songs with ur brother again? Like old times?”
Liam admitted: “You know what, it’s spiritual, but I can’t help think about all those wasted years what a waste of PRECIOUS time.”
