BBC Radio 2 Live in Leeds line up, travel info, banned items and ticket details

BBC Radio 2 Live is taking over Temple Newsam with a big weekend of fun planned.

The festival will see a host of major music stars performing with headline sets scheduled from Robbie Williams, Nile Rodgers and Chic, Craig David, Tears for Fears and many more. BBC Radio 2 Live will take place on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18.

Others on the bill include local favourites Kaiser Chiefs, Simple Minds, Ella Henderson, Spice Girl Mel C and George Ezra among others. We’ll also see many BBC faves making appearances.

You can expect to see DJs Sara Cox, Tony Blackburn, Trevor Nelson and Dermot O’Learly on-site at Temple Newsam. Ahead of the fun, we will bring you everything you need to know about the festival.

Line up

As we said, some of the biggest names in music will be performing at BBC Radio 2 Live in Leeds. There’s two full days of fun planned and when we have the set times for the performances we’ll bring them to you.

In the meantime, here’s the schedule for the Saturday and Sunday of the event. Gates will open at 11am each day:

Travel

The nearest train station near the festival is the one in Leeds city centre. From there, you can make your way to the site through a variety of options.

If you are driving to the site the postcode for Temple Newsam is LS15 0AE.

Car parking

There will be limited pre-booked car parking spaces onsite for those attending Radio 2 Live. Car Park passes can be purchased as an add on when purchasing the event ticket or for a price of £15 per vehicle.

The car park is located off junction 46 from the M1 and then follow the signage closer to the site. The car park opens at 9am and will close shortly after the event ends.

Limited parking is available for pre-registered access customers on a first come first served basis. No vehicles will be allowed to remain onsite overnight.

Shuttle bus and taxi

Shuttle buses will run between Leeds city centre and Radio 2 Live on both days. The first shuttle bus will depart at 10am and the final bus will leave the event site at 11pm.

Event ticket holders can save on money and time queueing by purchasing their shuttle bus tickets in advance when purchasing their event ticket. You can get an advance return ticket for £11.50. You can buy shuttle bus tickets here.

There will also be a taxi rank for picking up and dropping off based at the site.

Banned items

Like any major event, organisers have a list of banned items which you are not allowed to bring to the festival site. This is to ensure the event can run safely for those attending. Items banned from the festival include:

  • No drugs
  • No alcohol
  • No glass
  • Umbrellas more than 1m long

Bags are allowed, one per person, but have to fit the dimensions of W21cm X H30cm X D8cm. Food is allowed, within reason, for personal consumption. There will be bag searches at the entrance.

On site, there will be a range of food traders selling both hot and cold food and sweet and savoury snacks. The food offering will include options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free customers.

Tickets

There are a number of ticket options available for you to enjoy the festivities. Option include the following:

  • General - £52 per day
  • Enhanced tickets (with VIP extras) - £110

Ticket purchases include an additional booking fee. You can buy tickets by visiting Ticketmaster.
