BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2023 line-up and how to get tickets

More artists have been added to the already star-studded line-up for Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2023. The broadcaster’s flagship live music festival will take place in Dundee, Scotland, from May 26 to 28, with more than 80,000 music fans expected to attend the three-day event.

Radio 1’s Big Weekend kicks off the UK’s festival season by bringing some of the biggest UK and international artists to cities that may not otherwise host such a large-scale event, shining a light on the local area and providing a major boost to the local economy. There is always a huge demand for tickets, with the festival selling out within minutes every year.

But for those who miss out this year, BBC Radio 1 will broadcast live from the festival site across the weekend, with performances and tracks available live and on-demand across iPlayer and BBC Sounds.

Who is playing at Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2023?

The line-up for Friday 26 is yet to be confirmed, but Radio 1 has promised a special dance line-up. As with previous announcements, the Friday line-up is expected to drop in the days leading up to the on-sale date of Friday, March 31.

The second wave of acts performing over the weekend was revealed earlier this week, with some huge names added to the bill. The 1975 will headline the Big Weekend on Saturday 27, alongside The Jonas Brothers, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and Ardee.

Jess Glynne, Tom Grennan and Mimi Webb are also set to perform. On the Future Sounds stage, Rudimental will top the bill, with sets from Pale Waves, The Snuts, and FLO.

Sunday 28 will see Lewis Capaldi and Brit Award winners Wet Leg top the bill on the main stage, with Anne-Marie, Nothing But Thieves and former One Direction star Niall Horan also performing. Sub Focus, Arlo Parks and Cat Burns will play the Future Sounds stage, with Irish rockers Inhaler also on the bill.

How to get tickets to Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2023

Tickets for Saturday and Sunday are now sold all-but out, with limited tickets still up for grabs only for residents of Scotland. Tickets for Friday 26 go on sale on Friday, March 31, and will cost just £18 – plus a £2.50 booking fee per ticket.

As with previous Big Weekends, tickets are geographically weighted with an element of preference given to local residents. Tickets will be divided into three pots:

Pot 1: 50 percent of tickets will initially be reserved for postcodes DD1 – DD11. Tickets will be reserved in Pot 1 for seven days after being made available, after which any unsold will be offered for general sale.

Pot 2: 40 percent of tickets will initially be reserved for those living in the rest of Scotland. These tickets will be reserved in Pot 2 for seven days after being made available, after which any unsold will be offered for general sale.

Pot 3: The remaining 10 percent of tickets will be unreserved and available for anyone from around the UK.

To secure tickets from Pots 1 and 2 you will need to enter the postcode of your home address at the time of purchase. A maximum of two tickets can be purchased per person.

If you are lucky enough to live in Scotland, you can purchase tickets for Saturday and Sunday using the following links:

Just 15,000 tickets will be available to purchase for the Friday. Those hoping to bag a pair will need to follow the link on the BBC website, which will be updated closer to the on-sale time.
