BBC pundit reveals the one player Man City are missing in Liverpool title race

Manchester City are already missing the presence of Vincent Kompany at the Etihad Stadium, according to BBC pundit Martin Keown.

Man City went down to a shock 3-2 defeat at Norwich City on Saturday night to leave Pep Guardiola's side five points behind Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.

City have looked shaky at the back this season and Keown believes that Kompany is the one player they have been lacking this time around.

Speaking on Match of the Day 2, he explained: "I think they are coming to terms still with Laporte's injury and Vincent Kompany not being at the club.

"There was a lack of presence yesterday.

"I think Vincent Kompany, let's not forget, the other role when he playing, he was like a filter between the manager.

"He's a demanding man. And he was a key figurehead to filter that to the players, Vincent Kompany.

"And then what he did on the pitch. Massive, a real presence out there.

"That was missing, definitely, yesterday. Who's the leader at the back there?

"It's a difficult time there. Maguire, they didn't buy him and they had a chance to buy him. Van Djik they were in the market for. I think there is a bit of a hole."
