Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli is back to his best.
That's according to former Spurs forward Garth Crooks after watching the England international inspire the Lilywhites to a third successive win following the appointment of Jose Mourinho as head coach.
He scored twice in the 3-2 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon which takes his tally to three goals in as many games under the former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United boss.
His showing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earned him a spot in Crooks' Team of the Weekend, although the pundit felt the 23-year-old should have had a hat-trick.
"The mere fact that Alli has appeared in my team of the week in consecutive weeks and had a memorable match in midweek against Olympiakos tells its own story," Crooks wrote in his column for the BBC.
"It looks like the kid is back. Every time he receives the ball it feels like something is about to happen.
"That feeling has been absent in his game for some time.
"Against Bournemouth he should have had a hat-trick and would have done if he was at his very best so there is still some work for him to do.
"It does look like Mourinho is starting to have an effect."

Mourinho was quizzed about Alli's form in his post-match press conference and had a rather interesting response.
"Dele, I don't need to speak about," he said. "The best thing that can happen to a coach is when you don't need to speak about a player because everybody speaks, all of you, fans, everybody speaks about him and speaks about him for the right reasons.
"He's playing really, really, really well. I couldn't ask for any more from him.
"He's playing amazing, scoring goals, assisting, working, fantastic."
