BBC pundit outlines the 'big risk' Spurs are taking with the team selection for Arsenal clash

Former Chelsea and Blackburn Rovers striker Chris Sutton believes Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham are in for a tough afternoon in the north London derby with Arsenal.

Pochettino has handed a first start of the season to Jan Vertonghen, with the Belgian coming into the Spurs side to play as part of a back four also including Danny Rose, Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld.

It is understood that Sanchez is set to line up at right-back for the game, and Sutton reckons it is a gamble by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino for such a big game to make such changes.

“I have to say it is a big risk playing Davinson Sanchez at right-back, but it tells you all you need to know about what he thinks of Serge Aurier, with him on the bench," he said, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“But I am interested to see the three musketeers for Arsenal, with the pace and power of [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang, [Alexandre] Lacazette and [Nicolas] Pepe, and it is going to be exciting to watch.

“I am sure they will be looking to exploit those full-back positions, and they have gone very positive here.

“And I think the Tottenham back line are in for a tough afternoon. I wonder if Arsenal can pounce early on and put Tottenham to the sword.
