Former Tottenham forward Garth Crooks has heaped praise on Chelsea's Willian after his performance against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Brazilian star captained Chelsea against the Eagles, with Cesar Azpilicueta among the substitutes and Jorginho suspended.
He played a key role in the 2-0 victory, with Willian providing the assist for Tammy Abraham's opening goal, while he led by example as captain to help the Blues to a sixth win in a row in the Premier League.
And Crooks has been full of praise for the 31-year-old, who he has included Willian in his team of the week for the BBC website after he created four chances against the Eagles - more than any other player.
"What a clever move by Frank Lampard to make Willian captain," he said.
"The Brazilian is now an elder statesman at Stamford Bridge and the perfect candidate to bring the Chelsea youngsters through.
"He is also the best player in the team and can command the respect of some very talented but inexperienced young players.
"The flick on the edge of the Crystal Palace box to open up the space for Tammy Abraham to score was just wonderful.
"He's not a screamer either. Thank goodness the game has dispensed with the screamers."
Willian was not the only Chelsea star included in Crooks' team of the week, with Christian Pulisic also named in his team after scoring the second goal against Palace.
