Danny Murphy believes Tottenham still have enough to finish above Arsenal this season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have so far suffered an indifferent start to their campaign, and are currently 14th in the Premier League table.
As a result, Spurs are 11 points off the Champions League places, but only three points behind the Gunners, who currently occupy sixth spot.
And Murphy - a pundit for BBC Match of the Day, believes that although there are clear problems at Spurs, citing that Pochettino does not know his best XI anymore, they still have enough to finish above Unai Emery’s side.
"I don’t think [Pochettino’s] got a best team anymore, I don’t think he’s got a set formation that he sticks with, which he used to,” Murphy said on talkSPORT.
"Two years ago Tottenham played 4-2-3-1 generally. That season where they had [Mousa] Dembele and [Victor] Wanyama holding, then [Eric] Dier took [Victor] Wanyama’s place, but fundamentally it was the same.
"Two defenders helping out [Jan] Vertonghen and [Toby] Alderweireld. A box of four players that was really solid.
"They had the joint best defensive record for two years. They had good full-backs, selling [Kieran] Trippier and not replacing him was a strange one.
"I think he’s trying to recover their form but instead of simplifying it, he’s complicating it.
"I think there’s a lot of players there who are struggling on confidence.
“Saying that, I still think they’re in a better situation than Arsenal, which will please a lot of Arsenal fans I’m sure.
“I think they’ll finish above Arsenal.”
