BBC pundit explains why Arsenal shouldn't swap Unai Emery for Jose Mourinho

Chris Sutton believes that Arsenal should stick with Unai Emery and any reports of Jose Mourinho coming into replace him are 'ridiculous'.

Emery is under growing pressure after Arsenal drew 1-1 with Wolves at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The Gunners are now already six points behind fourth place Chelsea and 14 points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Jose Mourinho is thought to be interested in the job if Emery is sacked with the former Manchester United boss living in London and keen on a new challenge in the Premier League.

However Sutton thinks that the whole idea is a joke with the view that Emery should be given more time.

Speaking on BBC Five Live's Monday Night Club, when asked about the Mourinho to Arsenal rumours he stated: "Don't be ridiculous. Is this serious?

"A guy who serially mocked Arsenal and Arsene Wenger for years, calling him a specialist in failure.

"A guy who spent millions at Manchester United, lost his mojo, upset everyone and the players weren't playing for him.

"I don't think Unai Emery has had enough crack of the whip yet anyway.

"Do I think things are going swimmingly well? No, but were they under the last five/six years of Wenger's reign.

"It is going to take time. Replace him with Mourinho, where does that come from?"
