BBC pundit booted from the snooker after ex Mark Allen called her a 'distraction'

Snooker star-turned-BBC pundit Reanne Evans was booted from a backstage area at the World Championships after her player ex Mark Allen complained.

According to The Sun, women's world snooker champion Reanne was planning to join a TV broadcast in the practice room at the Crucible in Sheffield.

As she was getting ready for the show to start, BBC bosses asked her to leave following a complaint from her former partner, 35, who she's reportedly embroiled in a child maintenance dispute with.

A spokesperson for the BBC told the publication: "For the sake of ten minutes, Reanne left the players' practice room so Mark Allen could practise before his match without distraction upon his request.

"Her broadcast commitments weren’t affected."

Northern Irish snooker star Allen went on to address the issue and insisted it's not uncommon for players to ask for people to be removed from the practice room so they can run through their shots in peace and quiet.

He added: "There have been several cases of players asking for people to be removed when they’re practising ahead of a match.

"I'm not sure why there is a fuss about this one."

The pair got together in 2005 and had a daughter together before splitting in 2008.

Allen went on to win against China's Lyu Haotian, but was later eliminated from the competition after losing to Mark Selby.

Speaking after his defeat, the star admitted he is planning to step away from the game for a while to deal with issues in his personal life. and confessed he struggled to play without a "clear head".

He told the BBC: "There's numerous things going on off the table which I'd rather not talk about.

"I will come back but I can't see me coming back any time soon..

"I'll probably take a bit of a break from the game even if it means missing a few tournaments just to get all that sorted out.

"It's hard playing snooker at the best of times when you are competing against the very best in the world with a clear head. At the minute I just don't have that."

Allen said he is planning on having 'a bit of break' from snooker in order to address some personal issues, the BBC reports.

Speaking after his defeat, Allen said: 'There's numerous things going on off the table which I'd rather not talk about.

'I will come back but I can't see me coming back any time soon.'

He added that it is difficult to compete against the best in the world without having a clear head to focus on his game.
