BBC presenter spotted reading news in shorts as bare legs caught on camera

Viewers of the BBC were slightly distracted while watching the late-night bulletin last night, as the presenter was spotted wearing shorts when the camera panned to a wide angle.

In an attempt to cool down during the warm heat, journalist Shaun Ley's choice of clothing was outed by a sneaky side angle as he read the news in shorts and trainers.

Wednesday was one of the hottest days recorded this year so far in England, so it's easy to understand Shaun's outfit choice.

Shaun's top half was very professional as he wore his suit jacket and tie, suggesting he very much hoped the rest of his outfit was hidden, reports The Mirror.

The 51-year-old was presenting the late-night news on Wednesday and many eagle-eyed viewers were left trying to contain their laughter after spotting his bare legs as the camera gave an overview of the set.

One wrote: "Is BBC news reader Shaun Ley keeping his cool by wearing shorts? And if so, were viewers meant to find out? #bbcnews"

A second added: "Shaun Ley on the BBC is wearing shorts and trainers under his suit rn LOOOOOOOOL the cameraman accidentally panned past his desk from the side."

And a third added: "Wow. The BBC's clothing allowance has clearly taken a hit. Late-night presenter Shaun Ley appears to be wearing shorts. What next? Fiona Bruce doing question time in a bikini? Harumph. Harumph."

At the time Shaun Ley was discussing the very serious situation of Israel’s political turmoil and telling viewers about updated travel rules under coronavirus restrictions.

Shaun, 51, was still in the casual attire for the midnight bulletin.
