BBC presenter Lucy Owen has thanked fans for their support after the consumer show X-Ray aired its last ever episode on Monday, March 27. The Welsh programme, which sought justice for consumers, first aired in 2001 and has been presented by journalist Lucy since 2007.
However, the show was axed after 22 years as, according to BBC Wales, growth in its online services meant "tough editorial and financial decisions" were needed in order to grow its digital content. Bowing out on Monday, the show took a look back over the last 22 years of X-Ray.
And following the end of the episode, Lucy made some time to respond to her fans, admitting that the last instalment was a "tough" one to film. One viewer wrote: "Wishing you and all the team all the very best Lucy, the programme will be much missed."

"And we will miss our amazing viewers," Lucy replied. As another simply said "Thank you @lucyowenwales," followed by a gif of Disney's Monster Inc characters hugging.
"A Disney hug?" Lucy responded. "Nothing better. Thank you."
"Settled down for the very last time to watch @BBCXRay," wrote a third. "This must have been so emotional for you @lucyowenwales #TheFerret last aired 10 years ago this year, and there were tears shed that October day!"
"Ooooof it's been a tough one," Lucy replied. "Thank you for your lovely words."
It comes after Lucy revealed earlier this month that she was left in tears in the public loos after wrapping up filming for the final time. Sharing a selfie, she wrote: "What a day. Just managed to get through the last @BBCXRay links. I was very teary, set off by the incredible kindness from our viewers who came to say goodbye and thank you to me and the team.
