BBC presenter Nicky Campbell gets parents talking after sharing photo of daughters messy room

Nicky Campbell has unleashed a Twitter rant for parents everywhere - and the replies are brilliant.

The BBC presenter posted a tweet to his 140,000 followers outing his teenage daughter for her messy room.

Alongside a snap of the 19-year-old's bedroom covered in clothes and make-up, Nicky said it was "completely unacceptable" and that is really "p****s him off".

He complained: "This is completely unacceptable. You are nearly 19 years old and I am bloody sick of it.

"I don’t care that you were going to tidy it up. It just really p****s me off."

The rant has earned more than 6,000 likes and A LOT of responses from equally frustrated parents - all replying with their own 'messy rooms' stories and pictures.

One wrote: "I'll take your 19 y/o and raise you my 22 y/o medical student son, who's been home for 'minutes'...."

Another said: "There's a 31 year old in mine; though she has left home in between and returned (3 times so far ...) Waaaaagh!!!"

"I share your pain...my 19 y o daughter was impressed to see an avocado plush in the mess...," commented a third.

"Mate, that’s nothing," commented another, "Amateurish even. THIS is untidy!"

The 58-year-old did face some criticism for his tweet over 'invading' his daughter's privacy.

But Nicky responded: "It’s a teenage bedroom frustrated parent cliche trope joke which amused and was liked by a many people and parents including my daughter who is actually 21 who helped with the photograph of her scandalously untidy bedroom- #daddio hahaha."
