BBC's hit drama Peaky Blinders is ready to launch a spin-off documentary after its final season airs later this month, it has been reported.
With the exact date yet to be confirmed for the sixth series, the cast has been announced, and it includes all the old favourites including Cillian Murphy, Sam Claflin and Paul Anderson, as well as newcomer to the cast Stephen Graham.
After its final run of episodes, a new BBC Two documentary will look at the real-life gangsters who inspired the drama, Birmingham Live reports.
Speaking to the Sun newspaper, a source from the BBC said: “This will be a treat for devotees of the drama, some of whom may not have been aware that it was based on a true story.
“Though the gangs which inspired the Shelby clan are different in many ways, the similarities are fascinating and in many cases quite shocking.
“The documentary is a fitting way to help mark the end of the Peaky Blinders TV phenomenon which has hooked viewers for the past nine years.”
