The BBC News survey said … not a lot

Monkey hears some head-scratching has been going on in BBC News by people trying to fill in its annual staff survey. At the request of BBC News bosses, a box has been inserted into the electronic survey for staff to say how they think the division could be improved, in not more than 50 words. However, the box will not let people write in it. Once the issue has been fixed, Monkey wonders how many news workers will use the box to say they think BBC News could be improved by er ... getting its staff survey to work properly.
