BBC news presenter Harry Gration and wife become parents again aged 68 and 51

BBC news presenter Harry Gration is a dad again at the age of 68 after his wife Helen gave birth aged 51.

Their baby son Hamilton was born at 10.40am this morning weighing 6 pounds and 3 ounces.

The couple used an egg donor and travelled to Cyprus to have IVF treatment as British law does not allow women of Helen's age to have fertility treatment.

They already have 16-year-old twin boys Harvey and Harrison, and Harry also has three children from two previous marriages.

Not feeling limited by her age, body or the menopause, Helen set about trying to get pregnant after their two sons went to university,

Last year Harry celebrated 40 years of broadcasting with the BBC and the birth was announced on the BBC's Look North this evening.

Helen, who left her director role at the BBC to follow a new career, is no stranger to IVF.

She had the 16-year-old twin boys through the process and opened a nursery shortly after their birth.

When news of Helen's pregnancy broke, she confirmed that the baby's name would begin with an h.
