BBC MoTD presenter Gary Lineker makes bold Liverpool declaration after Man City drop more Premier League points

Liverpool have not even completed half of their 2019/20 Premier League campaign but Gary Lineker has already sent out a title congratulations tweet.

It's an example of how far Jurgen Klopp's side have come in recent years that Liverpool now lead the Premier League table by 13 points with a game in hand.

This might not be any different to the situation they were left in after a thumping 4-0 victory over second-placed Leicester City on Boxing Day, but it was the events at Wolves for Manchester City on Friday evening which has led to the latest feeling of euphoria amongst Reds' supporters.

City led 2-0 at Wolves despite being down to ten men, only for Adama Traore to pull a goal back before Raul Jimenez equalised and Matt Doherty provided the winner in a sensational comeback win.

after the latest boost to their title hopes as they now lead City by 14 points with a game in hand as well.

Naturally former England star turned BBC Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker was quick to provide his view on the developments and rather than commenting on City’s latest blow, Lineker congratulated Liverpool on winning the league already in his opinion.

He tweeted: "Congratulations to LFC on winning their first ever Premier League title."
