BBC Michael McIntyre's The Wheel: Who is celebrity contestant Nigel Ng?

Michael McIntyre's The Wheel is back on BBC One for a new series. Michael will welcome seven celebrities to the show to help the contestant win big.

For the first episode back, airing on Saturday, October 22, Michael will be joined by Anton Du Beke, Josie Gibson, Iain Stirling, Kadeena Cox, Tony Blackburn, Emma Barnett and Nigel Ng. Nigel is a comedian who is better known by his online persona Uncle Roger.

The stand-up comedian shot to fame on social media as Uncle Roger, a middle-aged Asian man who reviews Asian-food recipes with an exaggerated and pronounced Manglish-like accent and prides himself on various East, Southeast, and South Asian stereotypes and egg fried rice. In 2018 Nigel made his TV debut on Comedy Central's show Stand Up Central.

In 2021 he appeared on Mock the Week and in 2022 he was a guest judge on Junior MasterChef Indonesia series three in the final. He was also a guest diner on Gordon Ramsay's show Hell's Kitchen in 2022.

Nigel grew up in Kuala Lumpur before moving to America to attend university where he graduated in engineering and philosophy. He has performed shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and London's Soho Theatre.

Nigel will be joined by fellow comedian Iain Stirling, who is also the voice of Love Island, Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer turned judge Anton Du Beck, This Morning presenter Josie Gibson and radio presenter Emma Barnett on Michael McIntyre's The Wheel. Each celebrity will have a specialist area and after the contestants have spun the wheel the celebrities will try to help them win cash prizes.

Michael McIntyre's The Wheel started in 2020 and is now back for its third series beginning on Saturday, October 22 at 5.40pm on BBC One.
