BBC Masterchef's Gregg Wallace on how he lost four stone and became a fitness guru without dieting

He's known as a food expert on the BBC cooking show MasterChef and Gregg Wallace has also become a fitness guru after shedding four stone.

Gregg, 57, recently said he's feeling 'fitter and healthier than I've ever been', and he claims that it's without ever going on a diet.

Gregg, who has been co-presenter and judge of MasterChef with John Torode since 2005, discussed his incredible weight loss with Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Bacon on Wednesday (January 5).

He explained: "What I did, was I taught myself about healthy eating. I realised what I could eat a lot of, and I realised what I had to cut down on.

"That's the way I did it and that's what I champion. That's what I say to people."

The former greengrocer says he's shed the weight without dieting, instead eating healthy meals that fill him up.

He's also cut down on takeaways and booze.

"I personally don't like diets because when I tried them, I was always hungry," he explained.

"I eat three big healthy meals a day and I mean that - meals that actually fill me up so that I'm not hungry, so that I don't want to snack.

"I cut down the takeaways, I reduced the booze, but I've never, ever been on a diet."

Greg has set up an online fitness regime for others to follow called ShowMe.Fit.

To mark his birthday in October the platform announced: "A big, big, big happy birthday to Gregg who is 57 today!

"He has lost 4 stone and is fitter and healthier than he was at 27."

And Gregg previously wrote: "Take it from me - as a 56 year old who was nearly 17stone - you don’t need to do a silly diet - or starve yourself every day - you just need to learn what’s healthy - then you can eat lots of it - and have treats!"
