BBC leaders' debate: What time does it start and where can I watch?

The last Scottish leaders' debate takes place tonight just two days before the polling stations open their doors.

Nicola Sturgeon (SNP), Douglas Ross (Scottish Conservatives), Anas Sarwar (Labour), Willie Rennie (Lib Dems) and Patrick Harvie (Scottish Greens) will go head-to-head for the fourth and final time later today.

Scotland's recovery from the coronavirus, Scottish independence, climate change and transport are just some of the issues expected to come up on the programme.

Voters across the country will head to the polls on May 6 in what is expected to be the most significant election since devolution in 1999.

Following the debate the Record Politics team will be going live on our Twitter and Facebook accounts to analyse each leader.

Here's all you need to know about the debate later today:

What time does the debate start?

The BBC leaders' debate takes place tonight, May 4, and starts at 7.50pm.

It is expected to last around an hour and 10 minutes so should finish at 9pm.

Where can I watch?

The debate will be live on BBC One Scotland and the BBC News Channel.

Tonight's programme will also be available to watch on the BBC Iplayer just in case you are out and about and want to keep an eye on it.

The Record Politics team will be live blogging throughout the debate so keep an eye out on our website for that later.

Who is taking part?

Nicola Sturgeon (SNP), Douglas Ross (Scottish Conservatives), Anas Sarwar (Labour), Willie Rennie (Lib Dems) and Patrick Harvie (Scottish Greens) will all be facing questions from BBC Scotland Political Editor Glenn Campbell.

It's expected to be a fiery discussion between the leaders as we get closer to polling day.

Two men who aren't taking part are Alba Party leader Alex Salmond and All for Unity lead candidate George Galloway. Both high profile men weren't invited by STV.
