BBC Killing Eve fans shocked after Villanelle does something kind

Killing Eve fans were shocked tonight as Villanelle showed some compassion and emotion.

This week's episode was very different to previous episodes, as it concentrated on Villlanelle's backstory.

Viewers saw her travel to "Mother Russia" and to her long lost family that she believed were all dead.

She ventured into the family home and met her extended family, including her mum and brother.

There were some hilarious scenes as Villanelle, or Oksana as she was known to her family, took part in the village harvest festival, playing fairground games and getting involved in competitions.

But there were also some tense moments, including when Villanelle had a showdown with her mum who said she had a "darkness" within her.

In typical Villanelle style she ended up killing most of her family, apart from her brother and half brother, in an explosion, after her mother ordered her to leave.

But Villanelle's kindness in saving her younger Elton John-obsessed brother surprised fans, as did the fact she gave him a large amount of cash to go and see his hero in concert.

The final scene where she leaves the town on a train crying was also shocking, as the usually cool and collected Villanelle showed some emotion.

@olireading said: "Wow great end scene - angst and turmoil just told with music and facial expressions."

Susan Seddon said: "So glad she didn't kill the two brothers."

Mr Nosey said: "I love that episode of #KillingEve. Even might be softening to #villanelle Explains her back story. Plus she let her brothers live."

Lynds said: "I'm so pleased her two brothers weren't killed, she likes them...love the way she wore her mother's jumpsuit from the 80's on the train."

*Killing Eve continues at 9pm on BBC1 next Sunday, with episodes streaming on BBC iPlayer
