BBC issues Line of Duty update as new season set to be biggest yet

A new constable will be joining the team of crack detectives in season six of BBC police drama Line of Duty.

The news was announced in 'a memorandum to staff' from Superintendent Ted Hastings, stating DC Chloe Bishop, played by actress Shalom Brune-Franklin, would be assisting anti-corruption unit AC-12 in their important work on an upcoming case.

She will be joining Nottingham's Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston when the new season airs in March - and fans of the nail-biting series are in for an even bigger treat, with even more drama and intrigue in store.

The memo states: "AC-12's highest priority will always be capturing bent coppers. With that in mind, we have been requested and been granted an extra episode for our next series, making it our longest yet."

Shalom - probably best known for playing Private Maisie Richards in the BBC series Our Girl - takes on a no-nonsense pose showing she means business in a photo issued by the BBC alongside the rest of the cast.
