Football fans were hugely frustrated after missing the initial kick-off between England vs Iran.
Viewers trying to watch the match on BBC iPlayer were met with an error message. It read: "Sorry, it looks like something's not working right now."
It asked users to try again in "a few minutes". However, some viewers were only able to access the match 10 minutes into the game.
One user, Sara, tweeted: "Anyone elses BBC iPlayer not working??" Nicki tweeted: "This seems like not an ideal time for BBC iPlayer to fall over."
And Manny said: "How is BBC iPlayer down during the flipping World Cup??"
