BBC Industry start time, plot, cast and how many episodes

Following the cutthroat world of international finance is the BBC drama Industry. After airing the first series in 2020 the fast-paced drama is back for a second series on BBC One.

The British/American co-production is moving from BBC Two to BBC One in the UK for series two, which has already aired in the USA. The script is written by people who know exactly what it is like to work in finance as both Mickey Down and Konrad Kay are former finance employees.

The last series ended with the main character Harper Stern facing the fallout from her decision to sell out her colleagues and advance her own career. The second series of Industry was also spotted filming in Cardiff, with many scenes from the first series filmed in the Welsh capital.

When does Industry series two start and how many episodes are there?

The second series of Industry will air on Tuesday, September 27 at 10.40pm. There are eight episodes in the second series, all an hour long. All eight episodes are also available on iPlayer meaning you can binge-watch the series.

What is the Industry series two plot?

The second series will follow Harper Stern, played by Myha'la Herrold, and continues from the first series when she made the big decision to sell out her colleagues and advance her own career in the world of finance. Scriptwriter Mickey Down told Entertainment Weekly the new series shows Harper coping with her decision.

He said: "What we want to explore in season two is her negotiating what that decision means for her, her life in London, and her relationship with the people are closest to her, like Yasmin and Eric."

The show will also follow other characters, Yasmin and Robert, who are also working in the finance industry. The synopsis reads: "Now Harper, Yasmin, and Robert must drive new business and make new alliances both in and out of the office as Pierpoint and its junior bankers seek to take every advantage in a post-COVID world."
