BBC Happy Valley viewers said they had 'so many unanswered questions' after the explosive finale aired on Sunday (February 5).
The final episode saw Catherine's final mission unfold after noticing a break-in at her own home, soon finding on-the-run felon Tommy in her kitchen, attempting to kill himself with painkillers and her treasured photo albums in front of him.
After a heated exchange, he succeeded in setting himself alight, before Catherine jumped on him with a crochet blanket to help stamp out the flames. The final scene brought her to her daughter's grave, before being finally granted peace as she received a text informing her that Tommy had passed away.

The final few moments also saw Cawood seem to solve the murder of Joanna Hepworth while packing up her belongings in the office, with viewers learning that Hepworth had turned out to be a predatory groomer.
But, from asking what happened to dodgy pharmacist Faisal and if he was ever investigated and charged with the death of Joanna, how Ryan will deal with the death of his biological dad Tommy Lee Royce, or why PE teacher Rob Hepworth's daughter never took her coat off - viewers felt there were unanswered questions.
@_LauraHowells tweeted: "Too many unanswered questions left hanging. why did the little girl never take her coat off? Will they connect the dodgy pharmacist to the suitcase death? How will Ryan deal with TLR death? Gahhh."
As @alicewellsx wrote: "I’ve got so many unanswered questions!!! #HappyValley" and @abbie_threlfall posting: "All the unanswered questions though what happened to Ryan, why the child always wore a coat? Will Claire get a new crochet blanket? #HappyValley."
It seemed they weren't the only ones with questions, as @emxdrake tweeted: "That ending was disappointing, so many unanswered story lines? #HappyValley."
@CLH2711 questioned: "Don't get me wrong I have absolutely loved #HappyValley throughout the years but I'm a tad disappointed with all the unanswered questions still. The biggest one being why that kid didn't take that coat off. And what about Faisal?"
@DeeLightful77 tweeted: "The sub plots that went unanswered. #PoppysCoat #happyvalley." as @Hann3529 added: "why does the daughter always have her coat on ? What happened to Nev and the holiday? What’s the situation with Neil? Ryan’s reaction to TLR death? So many unanswered questions."
