BBC game show set in Belfast looking for local contestants to take part

The second series of hit BBC quiz show 'Lightning' is currently being made in Northern Ireland, and producers are currently looking for contestants from here to take part.

The show's first series aired earlier this year. Presented by comedian Zoe Lyons, it sees six contestants compete across six rounds, testing their general knowledge, quick thinking and speedy reactions, to win a jackpot prize of £3,000.

The filming of 'Lightning' in Belfast marks the first time that BBC quiz show has been produced here, meaning that there'll be plenty of opportunities for local quizzers and game show fans to take part.

In their casting call for local quizzers, Lightning's producers Fizz TV said:

"The electrifyingly fast BBC2 quiz hosted by comedian Zoe Lyons' is back and on the lookout for new contestants ready to take on the roaming light for the chance to win thousands of pounds.

"Nice One & Fizz (part of RDF Television) are looking for brilliant contestants to take part later this year. To succeed, you'll need a combination of quick thinking, skill, and strategy.

"We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and abilities.

"The closing date for the application is: Friday 13th of August 2021. You need to be a UK resident and aged 18+ to apply.
