BBC Eurovision viewers say it's 'not a time for crimes' as they spot problem minutes in

Eurovision Song Contest viewers have claimed that it's 'not a time for crimes' as they called out an error minutes into the grand final. Those who didn't get tickets to watch the action unfold at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena have been tuning in in their millions to see who will take the title this year.

The Eurovision 2023 action kicked off on Saturday night (May 13), with a skit featuring last year’s winners Kalush Orchestra, from Ukraine, performing their hit Stefania with runner-up Sam Ryder playing guitar on the top of the Liver Building and Andrew Lloyd Webber on piano.

There was also a shock when the Princess of Wales was seen in a pre-recorded moment playing the piano earlier this month at Windsor Castle. Kate was shown playing a short instrumental piece lasting around 10 seconds

It was then time for Eurovision presenters actress Hannah Waddingham, Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon and Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina to take to the stage. The trio have been seen multiple times this week as they also hosted the two semi-final shows.

But for the grand final, Hannha, Alesha and Julia have been joined byuy Graham Norton who is splitting time between hosting duties and the commentary box, where he is famed for his quick-witted comments on the acts as they give the biggest performance of their lives.

But it appears all eyes were on Hannah, who has been awarded plenty of praise this week for her hosting skills and various talents she has been displaying live on stage - including speaking French.

During the opening of the final, the Ted Lasso actress strutted along in front of the live audiences and the millions watching at home, sporting a 0plugning, off-the-should gown. The dazzling purple-hued get-up showed off Hannha's sensational curves and she kept accessories to a bare minium. Her blonde locks, meanwhile, had been styled into classic Hollywood curls.

But some spotted a problem, leaving fans to create a 'new rule'. @RegBently tweeted: "New #Eurovision rule. No talking over Hannah Waddingham. Especially if she's speaking French." @katbrown added: "No commentating over Hannah Waddingham speaking French, this is not a time for crimes #Eurovision."

@nickysyddyma complained: "Mel Giedroyc talking over the lady speaking French is one of the biggest fails in #Eurovision quality ever." @RachelCDailey posted: "Mel speaking over Hannah speaking French is treason #Eurovision." @Aaron_Kiely added: "Please don't speak over Hannah Waddingham speaking French! She is just perfection. #Eurovision."

Mel is sharing commentating duties with Graham Norton this year as he also takes on a hosting role. The comedian and former Great British Bake Off host will take it in turns with Graham in the box to bring audiences their unique and expert views on the 2023 acts.
