EastEnders fans were left on edge tonight as Gray thwarted Chantelle's escape plan.
The episode started with Chantelle on the phone asking about renting a room in Hastings town centre. After trying to see if there was any leeway on the price, she confirmed that she and the children would be arriving there today.
Chantelle then went to sell her wedding and engagement ring to fund their escape and bumped into her mum, telling her she'd bring the kids round to see her at 11:30am.
Chantelle went to her parents with the kids and told them how much she loved them.
Her dad offered her some cash that he'd saved through lockdown, but she refused it, saying she didn't need it, even though she did.

Chantelle then tried to leave the house, but as the kids dawdled with their things Gray arrived back, just in time to see her speaking to Kheerat about her escape plan.
Chantelle ran into the bathroom in the house and hid the cash she'd got in her make-up bag, which she then put in the cistern.
Gray stormed in as she washed her hands and demanded: "Where is your engagement ring?"
The episode didn't return to the couple, but the storyline is set to end in tragedy this week, with Chantelle being murdered by her husband.
And tonight's episode left fans on edge as they knew what was coming.
