BBC EastEnders fans chilled as Gray tears Chantelle away from holiday

EastEnders fans were heartbroken tonight as Gray tore Chantelle away from her family holiday.

Viewers were terrified of what lay ahead for Chantelle as Gray demanded they return home as someone was breaking into their house.

Tonight's episode started with Chantelle buying doughnuts in a cafe while on the phone to Kheerat asking him to sneak into the house and grab a memory box containing the children's baby bits.

Chantelle told Kheerat where the spare key was and what the alarm code was, but she had no idea that Gray was standing behind her and had heard everything.

Gray left before Chantelle saw him and she told Kheerat she would ring him when she was on the road.

Gray then turned up at the hotel, where Chantelle was staying with her family and asked her to show him the room where they were staying.

Gray told her they would put on an act for the kids and the family, but as soon as the morning arrived they were leaving.

As Chantelle left the room Gray rifled through their suitcases and found the poker chip she'd been hiding in her make-up bag to fund her escape from him.

The family all gathered together to watch a film and Chantelle told her dad she loved him, as she hugged him and Gray watched on menacingly.

Back on the square Kheerat entered the house, but the alarm code he put in was wrong sending an alert to Gray's phone.

He shouted: "Someone's breaking into our house, come on we're leaving now."

Chantelle's dad told her she could stay and she faltered, but eventually said she would return with Gray.

Chantelle said: "Bye mum, bye dad."

While Gray said: "Have a lovely evening."

And viewers were left feeling deeply troubled by the scenes, knowing something bad was going to happen back at the square.

Kayleigh said: "I actually feel sick."

Tom Gardiner said: "I gulped watching this scene and went totally cold. Absolutely broken for Chantelle, it's almost like even she knows this could be the last time she sees her parents."

Twitter user Harry the whovian said: " # EastEnders is making me feel sick. Cried again tonight thinking about how that is the last time Chantelle is going to say goodbye to her parents. Knowing what is going to happen is making this storyline even more heartbreaking. Tomorrow night is going to be awful to watch."

*EastEnders continues on Friday night at 8:30pm on BBC1
