BBC bosses have finally put an end to viewer confusion by confirming when the Masterchef final will air.
Like many other programmes on BBC1, like The One Show and EastEnders, the final of the cookery show's latest series was pulled from schedules after Prince Philip's death on Friday.
A statement from the BBC read: "With the sad news that HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, has died, there is now special coverage across all BBC networks to mark his life of extraordinary public service and planned scheduling has been suspended.”
This was followed by a post on the Masterchef Twitter account reading: "Following today’s sad news about HRH Prince Philip, tonight’s scheduled #MasterChefUK Final has been postponed."
Well now there isn't long to wait for Masterchef fans to find out who triumphs out of Tom Rhodes, Mike Tomkins and Alexina Anatole for the crown.as the final will air on Wednesday, April 14.
Revealing all, Masterchef tweeted: "We can now confirm that the #MasterChefUK Final will air on Wednesday at 8pm on @BBCOne & @BBCiPlayer "
Fans were delighted with the announcement, with one responding: "Finally! I was gutted it wasn’t on Friday night as was so looking forward to it"
Just as excited, another tweeted: "Finally gutted it wasn't on Friday and have been looking forward to watching it," and a third posted: "Yay! Was wondering how long we would have to wait."
Another predicted the final result, reacting: "1st Tom 2nd Alexina 3rd Mike."
