BBC confirm TV coverage of Hibs' Europa Conference League qualifiers

Both legs of Hibernian's upcoming Europa Conference League qualifier will be broadcast by BBC Scotland, it has been confirmed.

Hibs' second qualifying round ties against Inter Club d’Escaldes will be showcased on BBC iPlayer and on the BBC Scotland sport website.

As European qualifiers involving Scottish clubs this summer begin, the first leg in the Estadi Comunal of Andorra la Vella tomorrow Thursday, July 27 will be live on the aforementioned platforms. Kick-off is at 4pm UK time.

The second leg at Easter Road will then be shown on the BBC Scotland TV channel, as well as Player next week on Thursday, August 3. The match begins at 7.15pm, with coverage commencing 15 minutes prior to the start of the game.

There will also be a live text commentary on the BBC Scotland sport website plus clips of the Easter Road action on social media channels.

The Edinburgh club defeated Andorran opposition the last time they were in Europe in 2021, following up a 3-0 win over Santa Coloma at Easter Road with a 2-1 victory away from home.

Sportscene’s coverage from the second leg will be presented by Iona Ballantyne with Alasdair Lamont and Michael Stewart in the commentary box.

Meanwhile, Lee Johnson has warned his players they face a triple threat in Thursday’s opener in the mountains of Andorra.

They are heavy favourites but Johnson insists his side have a job on their hands to get past the part-timers to set up a third round qualifier against either Djurgårdens of Sweden or Swiss side FC Luzern.

The Hibs boss travelled to the Faroe Islands to watch Inter see off Vikingur with a 3-2 aggregate victory and saw enough to be wary of the dangers posed by the Andorrans, particularly in the Iberian principality this week.
