BBC Children in Need is to join forces with Lucasfilm and Disney for a one-off special.

In an exclusive Star Wars-inspired sketch to be broadcast on BBC1 during this year’s appeal, the galaxy’s favourite droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO, will be joined by Warwick Davis (who played Wicket the Ewok in Return of the Jedi) “as they attempt to find a worthy winner to help trigger the first BBC Children in Need totaliser of the night”.

Sir Terry Wogan has been confirmed as host on Friday 13 November, along with Tess Daly, Fearne Cotton, Rochelle Humes and Nick Grimshaw. Sir Bruce Forsyth is also set return to the Strictly dancefloor alongside Daly for a Call the Midwife Strictly makeover as Jenny Agutter, Laura Main, Stephen McGann and Jack Ashton go head-to-head in a bid to win the Pudsey Glitter Ball trophy.

Other guests set to feature on the night include Harry Hill, Ellie Goulding, Rod Stewart, Selena Gomez, Years and Years, Shane Filan and Nadine Coyle, Shane Richie and the EastEnders cast, plus the West End cast of Beautiful, Kinky Boots and Bend It Like Beckham.
