- Edward Bluemel, known for his role in Sex Education , has been announced as the star of a new six-part BBC Agatha Christie series.
- The 33-year-old actor will portray Hercule Poirot , making him the youngest actor to take on the iconic Belgian detective.
- Titled Hercule , the drama will delve into Poirot's early years, exploring cases before he became a renowned sleuth, as well as his initial encounters with Scotland Yard and his friendship with Arthur Hastings.
- Bluemel said: “I feel very lucky to have been trusted with such an iconic character who has been played by so many great actors. I can’t wait to continue Hercule’s legacy.”
- Hercule Poirot has previously been portrayed by actors including Sir Kenneth Branagh and Sir David Suchet.
