BBC Breakfast viewers distracted by Sally Nugent's outfit as fans demand change to show

Sally Nugent and Jon Kay presented Tuesday's BBC Breakfast but viewers couldn't keep their eyes off of Sally's attire as fans took to Twitter to demand a change to the show's supposed rules.

Jon was dressed in his usual attire for the morning programme as he wore a navy suit with a red tie while Sally opted for a slightly different look and matched a purple biker jacket that featured gold zip detailing with figure hugging black trousers.

The BBC Breakfast host finished off the look with black high heels and her outfit was commented on by several viewers.

One wrote: "Biker girl vibes from @sallynugent this morning, gorgeous jacket," while another asked: "Has @sallynugent just come straight from clubbing in Manchester?"

Sally wore the biker jacket for the first time on the programme back in January and once again viewers took to Twitter to compliment the look.

"Loving the biker look, can't wait for Newswatch complainers :)," one fan tweeted and another wrote: "Loving your top this morning. Please can you tell me where it’s from?!"

A third added alongside a screenshot of Sally: "Who’s the rock chick on the sofa??"

Meanwhile, one fan questioned why the male presenters wear suits on BBC Breakfast while female presenters are able to sport more "fabulous" outfits.

They wrote: "How come the female presenters on @BBCBreakfast get to dress more fabulous and more casual than the male presenters who have to dress in more stiff looking suit and ties?

"I love what @sallynugent is wearing. Men should be able to be more casual as well."

Jon returned to BBC Breakfast on Tuesday after he was missing from his usual spot on the show's first programme of the week.

Sally and Jon present the show Monday through to Wednesday while Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt take over until Saturday. A host of rotating presenters present the show on Sundays.

Elsewhere, BBC Breakfast star Nina Warhust announced she is pregnant with her third child in an Instagram post detailing her "intense" symptons.

She said: "It’s been a funky few months… involving intense migraines, vomiting, morning kebabs, first time acne, small acts of violence against fruit, afternoon kebabs, tears, spontaneous snoozes, anxiety and more kebabs."

BBC Breakfast airs on BBC One daily from 6am.
