BBC Breakfast say 'hands off' as Carol Kirkwood appears on a different show

BBC Breakfast told Morning Live hosts Kym Marsh and Gethin Jones 'hands off' as weather presenter, Carol Kirkwood, appeared on their show.

Jon Kay and Sally Nugent were hosting from the studio on Wednesday (April 13). At the end of the programme, they joined the team at Morning Live to see what was coming up in the show at 9.15am.

Sally said: "Let's find out what they have for us this morning with Kym [Marsh] and Gethin [Jones]. Morning guys!"

According to the Daily Star, Kym and Gethin said they would be discussing the energy crisis, the weather and sinusitis symptom management. Kym said: "We could be in for a treat with the weather this bank holiday, fingers crossed.

"Legendary weather presenter Carol Kirkwood tells us why temperatures are set to be hotter than Majorca, thanks to some Saharan gusts."

Sally joked that she couldn't believe their beloved co-star was appearing on another programme. She said: "Hands off Carol Kirkwood, she's ours. What's she doing on Morning Live?"

Jon said: "She's moonlighting! Carol! We'll hear from Carol in a few minutes with the weather..."

Even her former co-star Dan Walker chimed in on Twitter, sharing a sweet snap of Carol with the caption: "Good morning Carol. All the best with your new job", accompanied by a cry-laughing emoji.

However, it doesn't look like Carol is going anywhere soon, as she responded back to concerned viewers. One user, Gavin tweeted Carol: "Good morning Carol and where are you going?"

Carol said: "Nowhere!!! Very much staying on @BBCBreakfast Gavin x."

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
