Louise Minchin was replaced by Sally Nugent on Monday morning’s instalment of BBC Breakfast.
Viewers were left surprised when they tuned into watch the show this morning to find that Louise was nowhere to be seen as Sally stepped in to host the show in her absence.
Earlier this year, Louise, 52, announced that she would be leaving the show this Autumn after two incredibly successful decades.
And as fans turned on their TV’s on Monday morning, they became worried that Louise had already thrown in the towel earlier than expected.
“Where’s Louise on BBC’s Breakfast?” one viewer tweeted after realising her absence.
“Omg please don’t tell me Louise has already left BBC Breakfast,” another shared.

Meanwhile, another viewer voiced: “I do love Sally but nobody can host this show like Louise.”
Despite the initial flurry, Sally set the record straight when she told BBC Breakfast viewers that she was merely filling in for her pal while she enjoyed some holiday time in Wales with her family.
It’s not the first time that Sally, 50, has filled Louise’s shoes on BBC’s Breakfast.
Having worked for the BBC for over 15 years, the journalist and presenter is often called to fill hosting duties and she has done so for Louise on several occasions in recent years.

It comes after Louise shared a glimpse of her holiday in Wales on Twitter last week.
The TV star told her followers that she had been walking across Snowdonia in Wales for a number of days while on a break from her hosting duties.
It’s likely that Louise is now having some rest and relaxation time following her trek before she returns to BBC Breakfast.
Lifting the lid on her decision to call time on her hosting duties, Louise previously admitted that the time feels right now.
"It’s not going to be for a while," she said back in June.
"And just before everything else, I wanted to thank everybody who’s watching for your support, your loyalty over all those years.
"I have absolutely loved being part of it. I will really miss it but it is time now to stop that alarm, early in the morning.
"And thank you for watching all of those years as well. Anybody who watches will be very well aware my passion is endurance sport, and I will absolutely continue to do that."

The TV star’s decision to leave hit hard with viewers who insisted that the show ‘won’t be the same’ without Louise.
Thankfully, she’s got a few more weeks in the hot seat before they have to say goodbye.
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays from 6am on BBC One.
