BBC Breakfast went to a break this morning after Louise Minchin started crying.
Jon Kay called for the show to go to regional reporters after Louise shed a few tears after a touching segment about a care home.
Presenter Louise was overcome with emotion after seeing how staff at Court House in Somerset spent 84 days apart from their families to keep residents safe during the pandemic.
A clip showed the families of residents singing a rendition of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas as a show of thanks.
"Do you know what? It's been a year, hasn't it?" she said, as Jon handed her a box of tissues.
"I can't really speak," Louise added, "What's really touching about that is that they're singing along. They've done an amazing thing.
"They've done it on behalf of so many of us, and I've gone very early. I know it's 6:30am.
"I'm sorry if you're crying as well but that's just how this year has been."
"I don't blame you," Jon told her, "That was really powerful, wasn't it?
"What an amazing thing for them to do."
"I'll be alright," Louise added, "We'll all be alright."
Jon then handed over to regional reporters.
A care home manager has since commented on the scenes, tweeting: "This really made me cry and made me realise just how different this year is.
"It really hit home for me as much as we've done everything we can. It's not the same not having our families in and the Christmas atmosphere."
Another offered: "[My husband's] been in Switzerland and he has been all this year.
"He's come over for two weeks this entire year with my youngest Andy on holiday and then he went back and I haven't seen him since.
"I'm just going to repay that moment because it meant so much to me and keep in my mind that one day I will see him again."
