BBC 'after' Ruth and Eamonn after presenting duo lose This Morning slot

BBC execs are said to be ready to offer Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford their own show as their This Morning axe contains to provoke uproar from fans.

Last weekend it was announced that the husband and wife presenting duo had lost their long-held Friday slot on the ITV daytime show, with bosses replacing them with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

Eamonn and Ruth were said to be "upset and furious" by the move and many viewers shared in their anger, with some boycotting the show as a result.

But now it is being reported by The Sun that the BBC want to tempt the pair away from ITV with a lucrative deal.

A source told the paper: "Eamonn and Ruth have a huge fanbase and are very experienced.

"They can easily carry any number of shows, so producers at the Beeb are considering handing them a format to front.”

The news comes as Eamonn and Ruth fans continue to protest about ITV's treatment of them.

Tweeting This Morning on Sunday, one posted: "I've never contacted any TV programme before but, axing Ruth and Eamonn from Fridays is a huge mistake. friends all agree, axe Phil,he's overrated and on everything.Reinstate Ruth & Eamonn."

Another tweeted: ".This Morning have lost the plot getting rid of Ruth and Eamonn...they are the only reason I watch," and, reacting to reports of a potential BBC move, a third commented: "Best news I've heard all week ! What a mistake taking you off ⁦ @thismorning.!
