BB's Pete Bennett attends red carpet event with Catherine Tate in rare public appearance

Pete Bennett was spotted in public in a rare appearance on Tuesday night.

The 39-year-old actor, who is rarely seen these days, attended a red carpet event with co-star Catherine Tate for The Nan Movie, which they are both starring in, on Tuesday night.

He looked like he was having a whale of a time as he posed next to Doctor Who's Catherine, who was in character as Joannie Taylor.

Pete, who plays Bradley in the film, showed off his cool sense of style as he wore sequinned pants and a headband for the occasion.

The pair looked great together as they made an incredible appearance ahead of The Nan Movie's release.

Pete rose to fame on Big Brother 14 years ago, walking away with a £100,000 prize fund, which he later admitted went on 'bailiffs, the tax man, drugs'.

He went down a dark hole, but has managed to turn his life around by landing a role in the forthcoming movie.

During an appearance on The Jeremy Kyle Show in 2015, he broadcast the downsides of fame and what happened after his huge win.

Pete explained: "The work dried up pretty fast, no one would touch me with a barge pole because I was to do with Big Brother. I lost it all.

"It all kind of went wrong, it didn't go to plan. I had all that money and I didn't know what to do with it. I put it on the wrong things. I was homeless after having so much money, it's easy come, easy go. The fame pushed me in a way I didn't want to go, I didn't like it.

"I got into drugs 15 years ago, I've always been a party animal, I was addicted to ketamine. I went to get proper help for my addiction."

Thankfully, things have got better for Pete as he is set to star in the film.

Speaking about his new role, Pete told The Sun: "I was like s**t man, he's going to get the part. I thought I better crank it up a notch.

"I went in there and called Catherine Tate loads of swear words, and she loved it.

"I called her all the names under the sun. And then I got the part."
