Baz Luhrmann, 60, shows off dramatic transformation with wrinkle-free appearance

Baz Luhrmann's Elvis biopic has been cleaning up at the awards ceremony with the film being well received by fans and critics alike.

The director's decision to cast Austin Butler as the Rock n Roll legend has reaped its rewards as the actor's flawless performance also won the plaudits of the Presley family.

But away from his latest film, Baz, 60, has been showing off his younger-than-ever appearance. His look has been questioned for a number of years after he debuted an expressionless new look in 2016.

And his latest public appearance has done little to put out the flames when it comes to the rumour mill. He was interviewed on Australian TV on Wednesday morning and looked a lot different from when he first burst onto the scene in 1992 with his film titled Strictly Ballroom.

During his interview on Sunrise, Baz displayed a wrinkle-free complexion and showed off plump cheeks. Showing off his shiny look, his jawline appeared much more prominent than it had previously in his career.

He also seemed to have a much smoother skin with past wrinkles no longer visible.

His success with Elvis comes after he had previously hinted he was ready to walk away from the industry.

Speaking to Variety Australia in June last year, he said: "I am at the point in my journey where I am like, would I even bother making another film?"

Austin, 31, has heaped the praise on the director in a number of his award acceptance speeches. During his BAFTA speech, the actor thanked a string of people involved in the film including director Baz before going on to thank his own family and the Presley family.

Speaking at the ceremony, he said: "I want to thank my family. You are my everything and last thing, I want to thank the Presley family. I can't thank you guys enough for the love, thanks for sharing with me who Elvis truly was.

"I hope I made you proud. This means the world to me. Thank you so much."
