Baylor (6-0) vs. Oklahoma State (4-2) Game Preview
Why Baylor Will Win
So how are the Bears doing it? How are they able to remain unbeaten without a big-time offense and with so many good performances in tight games?
Texas Tech fans might like to suggest that the officials and a bad judgement miss might have had something to do with the 33-30 BU thriller last week, but give Matt Rhule’s team some credit for being about as mentally tough as any team in the country over the first half of the season.
Start with the pass rush that’s been dominant throughout the year so far. BU leads the Big 12 in sacks and tackles for loss, they’re owning the turnover margin, and they’re coming up with seemingly every key play in timely moments.
Oklahoma State doesn’t have a pass rush, it’s struggling on the offensive line, and it’s a disaster when it comes to giveaways, but …

Why Oklahoma State Will Win
This is the offense that Baylor hasn’t faced so far.
Iowa State has a terrific passing game, and Texas Tech’s offense is starting to find its groove, but Oklahoma State’s O is doing just about everything right.
Chuba Hubbard leads the nation in rushing, Spencer Sanders is the dual-threat quarterback who’s making it all go, and the receiving corps is by far the best Baylor has seen.
Baylor’s offense has been good, but QB Charlie Brewer is a bit banged up, and it doesn’t have the firepower to keep up if the Cowboys go off. The Bears don’t control the clock, so they won’t be able to take the air out of the ball if OSU gets up fast, and there’s just no answer for those skill parts for Sanders to work with.
How did OSU lose to Texas and Texas Tech? The secondary was a whisper and the pass D went bye-bye, but …

What’s Going To Happen
That’s just not Baylor.
Brewer will throw for 300 yards and three scores, but it’s not going to be quite enough. The Oklahoma State running game will come up with just enough big bursts to take over the game when needed, and Sanders – coming off a few rough games with two many picks – will overcome his mistakes with a slew of big pass plays.
Both teams will trade punches, but at home with a few weeks off to rest up, the Cowboys will be just a wee bit fresher.
