Ex-Liverpool star Dietmar Hamann does not think Bayern Munich should pursue a permanent deal for on-loan Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho following his recent poor form.
The 27-year-old made the move to Germany in the summer after struggling to settle at Barcelona , and he initially impressed, starring in Bayern's 7-2 thrashing of Tottenham last month.
Recently, however, he has flattered to deceive, and although he scored in Bayern's 4-0 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf on Saturday, that was his first goal since September 28.
Hamann, who played for both Coutinho's former team Liverpool and Bayern, does not think the midfielder represents value for money.

Speaking to t-online he said: "At this point, I wouldn't sign Coutinho on a permanent deal. Until now, he hasn't shown enough to justify a transfer fee of more than €100m. At the moment, he's probably not even worth half of that.
"Coutinho is a sensitive player, and not everyone can play for Bayern Munich. That's a special club."
There is reportedly a clause in Coutinho's deal with Bayern which would allow the Bavarian club to sign the player for €120m next summer, but it remains to be seen whether they decide to activate it.
Despite his poor form at Bayern Coutinho is still a regular starter in the Brazil national team, and recently played the full 90 minutes and scored during a 3-0 victory over South Korea.

He is the joint-fourth most expensive player of all time along with Antoine Griezmann after signing for Barcelona from Liverpool for an eye-watering €120m in 2017, but during his two seasons at the Nou Camp he failed to nail down a regular place in the side, and fans often expressed their displeasure with his ineffective performances.
Bayern currently lie in third place in the Bundesliga, a point behind surprise league leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.
