Bayern Munich 'seek Wilfried Zaha loan' during Crystal Palace transfer talks

Bayern Munich are keen to have Wilfried Zaha join them on loan for the rest of the season as they eye the Ivorian's signature.

Crystal Palace spent the summer rebuffing interest in the winger who has admitted a desire to play in the Champions League.

Bayern could help Zaha fulfil that ambition and are targeting wide players at the Allianz Arena.

They have held talks with the Eagles over a possible transfer, but the two parties were unable to agree on a deal with a loan move discussed, reports journalist Christian Falk .

Zaha was a target for both Arsenal and Everton in the summer with Palace slapping an £80m price tag on the winger.

That was enough to end the interest with the Gunners instead opting for Nicolas Pepe and the Toffees signing Alex Iwobi.

Palace are unlikely to lower their asking price with their prized asset tied down to a long-term deal and have already shunned several transfer requests.

Bayern waved goodbye to Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben in the summer leaving them lacking options out wide.

Ivan Perisic came in on loan from Inter Milan in the summer while Serge Gnabry has enjoyed his best season to date with 11 goals in all competitions.

The German champions are still expected to return for Manchester City's Leroy Sane who was linked with a return to Germany in the summer.

The 23-year-old has spent the season on the sidelines with injury but a £100m move to Bavaria remains a possibility.

Bayern are currently managerless with Hans-Dieter Flick seeing things through until the end of the campaign which may yet affect their ability to get deals done.
