Bayern Munich reignite Leroy Sane interest as they eye transfer from Man City

Bayern Munich are ready to reignite their interest in £90million Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.

The Bundesliga champions have had the 23-year-old as their prime target for nearly a year.

But Sane was prevented from moving by surgery during the summer on a damaged anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Bayern instead moved for Barcelona outcast Philippe Coutinho.

However, they have not given up on Sane and remain willing to offer a £20million-a-year contract to land him.

Bayern had initially been scared off during the summer by City’s staggering £90million valuation.

The fee would represent more than double the Premier League Carabao Cup and FA Cup winners’ £40million outlay three years ago next week.

But board member Edmund Stoiber has admitted the German giants are still keen.

“There were discussions over Sane,” he said. “The unfortunate injury and the surgery he required for it broke the deal up.

'We'll see how things develop. As chairman of the advisory board and a member of the supervisory board, I have great faith in the sporting leadership.

"If they propose a transfer of this magnitude, that is justified.”

Sane is yet to play for City since the Community Shield, and won't return before the New Year.

Guardiola stated at the time of Sane's injury that he expected him to be out for "six or seven months".

City are still keen to tie Sane down to a new deal at the Etihad, which runs until 2021.
