Bayern Munich president threatens Germany boycott if Joachim Low drops Manuel Neuer for Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has sensationally threatened to stop the Bundesliga champions’ players from joining up with the German national team if Joachim Low drops Manuel Neuer for Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The Germany football goalkeepers have been locked in a war of words recently, with the Barcelona No 1 upset at a lack of opportunities with Die Mannschaft.

And Hoeness has vowed to stop Bayern players from linking up with the national team if Low opts to switch his goalkeeper.

“Before that takes place, we won’t be sending any more national players,” the Bayern president told Sport Bild.

“We will never accept that there will be a change here.”

Hoeness then refused to consider meeting with Low to discuss the matter.

“He’ll already hear what we’ve said, his ears will ring,” he added.

After Ter Stegen revealed it was a “big blow” to him to not feature on the pitch in the recent internationals, Hoeness has advised Germany on how to deal with the former Borussia Monchengladbach star.

“You put Mr Ter Stegen in the corner and tell him clearly that it doesn’t work like that,” Hoeness remarked.

Low has angered senior figures at Bayern in recent months when he dropped Jerome Boateng, Thomas Muller and Mats Hummels, who has since rejoined Borussia Dortmund.
