Bayern Munich president makes Leroy Sane transfer confession

Bayern Munich club president Uli Hoeness admits he is 'doubtful' that his side will sign Leroy Sane this summer.

Manchester City winger Sane continues to be linked with a potential exit from the Etihad in the coming months as speculation mounts over his long-term future at the club.

The German international failed to hold down a regular spot in Pep Guardiola's first-team last season and reports suggest the player is growing frustrated by a lack of playing time at the club.

The 23-year-old was rarely trusted to start in high profile games against tough opposition, with Guardiola often preferring Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva or Riyad Mahrez to him.

Sane started just three times in the last 12 games of the season, however he still managed to score 16 goals and wrack up 18 assists throughout the entire campaign.

With both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery set to leave the German champions in the summer transfer window Bayern are keen to recruit a new wide option, and Sane is one player who they would love to sign.

However, Hoeness admits that City's asking price has complicated any potential deal and he admits that it is unlikely they will be able to lure Sane to the Allianz Arena this summer.

"You have to be a bit sceptical. It is unlikely that it will work," Hoeness told Kicker.

"It's about sums, they're insane."
