Bayern Munich president asked about Leroy Sane's Man City transfer situation on deadline day

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has once again been asked about Leroy Sane, though this time his response was brief.

Bayern have not kept their pursuit of the Man City winger quiet by any means after embarking on an intense charm offensive this summer to try and capture Sane.

Countless key players, including Robert Lewandowski, Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich and plenty more, as well as high-profile members of staff have all publicly commented on their desire to see Sane return to Germany.

It culminated in manager Niko Kovac declaring he was 'confident' Bayern would get their man, comments he later apologised for.

The club themselves would then go on to publicly deny rumours in the German press that Sane had agreed a deal with them, following City's complaints to the club over the public pursuit.

In a cruel twist of fate, City are now waiting to discover the full extent of Sane's injury after he was substituted after just 10 minutes in the Community Shied after twisting his knee.

It seems that Bayern are now remaining as quiet as possible about Sane, as Hoeness only had a brief response when asked if the potential injury had put an end to any potential deal.

"Ask the English. We will announce facts," Hoeness told Bild.

He was then asked if he was confident about the signing, to which the Bayern president simply said "bye."

City will demand upwards of £135m from Bayern, who do not have to complete a deal by Thursday as the German transfer window only closes on September 2 and the Blues have no plans to sign a replacement if Sane goes.
