Bayern Munich players 'believe' they'll sign Chelsea star in this transfer window

Bayern Munich's players are repeatedly confident that the club will sign Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi on a season-long loan before the end of the transfer window.

The 19-year-old's future has been called into question following the arrivals of Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech, and he seems to have to have fallen down manager Frank Lampard's pecking order.

Hudson-Odoi has played just ten minutes of Chelsea's opening two Premier League games of the season, and is said to be considering his future due to his lack of playing time.

Bayern have been linked with the player in the past, and according to The Telegraph there is a good chance that the Champions League winners will make a move before the window slams shut next month, with a number of their squad already convinced he will make the move to Germany.

Lampard did little to play down speculation linking Hudson-Odoi with a transfer when he was asked about his and defender Antonio Rudiger's future on Tuesday.

"I’m going to skirt around that question. It remains to be seen," he said.

"We’re not in a period where the transfer window or market is acting like it has done in recent years in terms of how players move or what level they move at. Again, the competitive games have just started.

"I’m very open to those conversations with the players as the next couple of weeks go on. My priority will always be making sure I maintain and keep the strongest squad I can for this club but after that, of course, the individual conversations will happen within that."

Chelsea are close to bringing in Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy for £22m, while they are also said to be considering swooping for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, meaning they would likely welcome any funds raised from the departures of Hudson-Odoi and Rudiger.
