Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara appears to have played down claims he told the German side that he wants to leave the club this summer amid links with Liverpool.
Thiago has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks, and was understood to be keen on moving away from the Allianz Arena.
The 29-year-old is about to enter the final year of his contract with the six-time Champions League winners but has been valued at around £30m.
With Gini Wijnaldum being linked with Barcelona this summer, Thiago has been tipped as an ideal replacement in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield should the Dutchman choose to leave.
Bayern boss Hans-Dieter Flick last week said that he expects Thiago to leave Bayern and that a decision has already been made.
However, the Spain midfielder, speaking ahead of his country’s clash with Ukraine on Saturday, seemed to deny that anything was set in stone.
Thiago said, per Mirror Football : "I have not told anyone that I’m leaving. Every year, you put me at a different club.
"For me, my future is tomorrow’s game and there is nothing more to say. I neither care nor am I interested. What interests me is tomorrow."
The Reds currently have Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, James Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones as their midfield options.
