Bayern Munich issue Kingsley Coman update amid Manchester United transfer interest

Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick admits Kingsley Coman might have finally turned a corner in his career amid interest from Manchester United.

The 24-year-old wrote himself into the history books on Sunday night as he scored a brilliant header to win the Champions League final for Bayern against Paris Saint-Germain.

Coman had been tipped to potentially leave Bayern in the summer transfer window with United viewing him as a possible alternative to priority target Jadon Sancho.

MEN Sport reported last month United could look to take Coman on loan if they fail to sign Sancho this summer but Bayern have briefed to German confidants they have no interest in selling the winger.

Flick's post-match comments suggested he sees Coman as an important part of Bayern's future.

“Perhaps he's finally stepped out of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben's shadow this season," the Bayern manage pondered. “Kingsley has incredible talent and he showed tonight that he can also score goals.

"I've not set a deadline for when the party has to stop. It's only right to celebrate when you win something. You have to have a party and I don’t know when that party will end."

Speaking at full-time Bayern winger Serge Gnabry was also full of praise for the match winner and the manner in which he has overcome injury this season.

“He helped us extremely," Gnabry said. "He came in and one-against-one we knew it would be difficult for the opponent. For him to score that goal after being out injured for a couple of games and to come back into the team was incredible.

"It has always been said that the spirit of this team is crazy. We always fight for each other and we have a strong bond. Hopefully we can build on that and win more."
